Certainly; I have no problems with Thunderbird - I used it occasionally to test encryption in emails - I was just pointing out how great Opera is . I might have a look at Thunderbird for RSS now since I'm not so happy with Liferea which is what I was running on Linux. edit: whoops, seems I actually have Evolution installed, not Thunderbird... Looks good to me. If it is not too difficult to implement and easy to handle for the users, go for it!

^ Well, Thunderbird manages the RSS feeds like email accounts, and I really like it. Especially if
then IMO Thunderbird is THE application for you. |

I think Mike's idea of a genre-level is a good one.
Thunderbird looks decent at handling RSS, as well (certainly a lot better than Firefox ). Opera's also worth a try since it's intergrated into the browser itself (and email, and soon Bittorrent. Lovely ) |

Here's a quick RSS tutorial:
Of course you can use RSS in numerous ways, this is only a suggestion to get you started! Of course it's especially useful if you can use Thunderbird for E-Mail too ... so you get it all in one application.

I think I need to know it better... However, everything able to make our life easier in informatics can count with me. |

Here's how you could implement it: /rss.asp?genres=10,23,44 Simply parse the genres parameter and use the genre IDs in an SQL query. Then all we need is a form where you can select genres and as a result the system builds the url, which you can then bookmark. |

I started a poll about RSS half a year ago ... still waiting for any meaningful responses. So good luck with this poll! BTW: I think that RSS is vastly superior to any E-Mail newsletter. You just need to promote it better. But I don't think that it would make sense on an artist/album level. I think it would be best if we could simply select genres (checkboxes). |

What is RSS @ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RSS_%28file_format%29 Or if a newsletter is still the way to go to syndicate our new reviews. Thanks |
