Never thought of it, but yes... this is true... and I guess it might be the main reason Marillion caught the proggers' attention since day one. A very carfully chosen track to start a career with (although it wasn't by any means the first one they wrote).

BTW, Marillion seems to be the only group I can think of (with any sort of length to their career ... ie more than three albums) where so many people think that the first song on the first album is their best ...

For some reason I've gone off Fugazi (Jigsaw's my favourite from there) of late ...

Hmmmm.... I have always thought of "Jigsaw" (from FUGAZI) as a wonderful song.... it really touches the core of my heart. But I also think very highly of "The web" (from SCRIPT).

Since both songs are not on the "politically correct" list, I would chose "Emerald lies" (also from FUGAZI, and also not on the list)

Hard to narrow it down with some many great songs.  Favorites would have to include:  Assassing, Incubus, Fugazi, That Time of the Night, Incommunicado, White Russian...

Arduous to decide, although, I'd go with a maybe not so popular "The Web", considering not to appear on the poll's immediate choice, whereas Script for a Jester's Tear, Warm Wet Circles and Bitter Suite fall not so distantly behind.

Other naturally (Chelsea Monday wasn't on there). But everything Marillion did durin Fish-era was classy. Love Grendel and Forgotten Sons too.

"Garden party" was the song that solidified my love for Marillion, followed closely by "Market Square Heroes".
