Hi.
As far as I'm concerned, "Pollen & Strands Of The Future" by Pulsar from France are considered dark albums.
I think "YS" by Il Balletto di Bronzo is a great yet dark album, too.

I disagree. Lift yr. skinny fists like antennas to heaven is rather
light. There are some parts that sound dark but in general the feel of
the album isn't depressing nor dark at all.

Tull's darkest album i think would be Benefit. Jethro Tull is overall not a dark band, but this one sticks out to me at least as being the most moody.
|
Ehn...I'd put TAAB before that, actually. There are a lot of dark themes and the whole attitude is cynical.

Zarathustra is a haunting and dark album!!
Felona e Sorona is also melancholic but happy at the same time.
In prog metal almost every album is dark .
Also all the Pink Floyd's albums after Meddle are dark.
I think the melancholic and dark music is the most beautiful one.

Smell The Glove (with revised cover)...The original cover depicted, in the words of Polymer rep Bobbi Flekman, a "greased, naked woman on all fours with a dog collar around her neck, and a leash and a man’s arm extended out up to here holding on to the leash and pushing a black glove in her face to sniff it."

Univers Zero, Shub-Niggurath, Jacula, Vdgg, Pulsar, and Devil Doll have been mentioned.
So, I'd add Present.
