A couple months ago I was adding Traffic Sound albums, and even when my uncle faxed me a couple of oroiginal covers, I couldn't find a damn total time info, in one of the not even tracks lenght.

I had to upload my copies to MP3 and check the time song per song adding them to get the total time.

I sure it won't be perfectly accurate if they ever release a CD of those (Because we don't know how much blank space between tracks they will add), but it's a help when possible.

^ True.

Anyway, I fixed the total times, even though some of those were not really errors ...

Sometimes even the information printed on the inserts in the jewel case don't match what my CD player indicates the time to be.

Last night I was listening to Seven by Magenta. From the back of the jewel case it indicated the song Envy timed in at 9:51. My CD player indicated it was 10:09. The song Pride was listed at 12:49. My CD player indicated it was 12:31.

By the way, the times listed here on PA are respectively 9:42 and 12:09. At freedb.org, those same two songs time in at 10:10 and 12:31. So that's four different times for one song and three for the other.

My guess is that my CD player and freedb.org are probably the closest to being accurate. But, hey, who is to say that even CD players aren't consistent? It certainly wouldn't surprise me, although I'm sure they're supposed to follow some sort of  international standard. Maybe from ISO? ANSI (which is only American)?

The times on original vinyl LPs are typically different from their later CD releases, but usually by a few seconds. Remastered versions often have slightly different times, often a little bit longer.

Alas, we live in an imperfect world I suppose.

For example, my version of Fragile is exactly 41:13 long, but of course, this doesn't mean your album must be too.

I'll fix these, though.

Btw, I'm pretty sure you weren't referring to Damnation, since I own that album and it's only approx. 43 mins long..

Damnantion....I meant DELIVERANCE.  Got caught up in what I was doing.

However can you try and post in the correct forum: Report Errors And Ommissions.

This is clearly not abuse....unless you are abusing the guy who added the Yes albums to the database...

OMG!  Did I do that again?  sh*t.  Can you move this thread for me?

This one is for the collaborators to take care of. This may come off as cheesy or silly, but in the interest of trying to make sure things are correct, I'll start off by saying this:

  1. DAMNATION from Opeth is actually 61:50, not 67:13.
  2. YES from Yes is 38:59, not 41:22.
  3. TIME AND A WORD is 39:19. not 39:52. Not only that, but the song is NO OPPORTUNITY NECESSARY, NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED.
  4. FRAGILE is actually, 40:52, not 41:13.
  5. Add five seconds on to the total time of CLOSE TO THE EDGE.
  6. Disc one of YESSONGS is 66:04, not 66:10.  Disc two is 63:12, not 63:39.  The total time for the album is 129:16, in fact.
  7. TALES FROM TOPOGRAPHIC OCEANS is 81:14, not 80:03.
  8. RELAYER is 41:28, not 40:31.  And not only that, but if Alan White played drums on "everything else", who else played drums?
  9. GOING FOR THE ONE clocks in at 40:43, not 38:39.
  10. TORMATO clocks in at 42:13, not 41:15.
  11. DRAMA is 36:46, not 36:56.
  12. The drummer on "Yesshows" is ALAN WHITE, not ALAN WHIT.  And the length is 75:45.
  13. 90125 is actually 44:34, not 44:45.

As I find more mistakes, I'll post them.  Take care.
