I haven't read all of this thread and I don't know if it has been mentionned before but I really like this website : vgmusic.com

All of the video game music you can think of is on this website.

Enjoy!

RIP in bossa nova heaven.

Is buying the game the only way to get that? I'd love to hear it but I don't know if they've released it separately.

Hopefully we should appreciate that given points in time are not so significant as the nature of what is impressed on the mind, and how it is retained and used.

How about the Incubus 27 minute epic from Halo 2. Now THAT is an
incredible video game song.
One likes to believe
In the freedom of music
But glittering prizes
And endless Compromises
Shatter the illusion
Of integrity

Another one...:

ELP - Memoirs of an Officer and Gentleman/Honorable Company reminds me of "Zidane's Theme", from Final Fantasy IX.

And some parts of Hamburguer Concerto (Focus) sound like the music from "Spyro the dragon"...

Great guys keep 'em coming!  I thought of another one- the music and lyrics in The Court of the Crimson King (song) remind me heavily of Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest for the SNES.

The sync'd solo in Metropolis pt. 1 reminds me of Sonic the hedgehog. Especially the music when you get invincible.

I just thought of another one- the really cool church organ line during the really spacy, atmospheric part of Awaken by Yes reminds me of the music from Hollow Bastion in Kingdom Hearts... yeah I play Disney Video games... not really that's the only one... and I must say its darn good!

Woah that's just what I was gonna write. Also, I think the beginning of part 2 of Thick sounds like Zelda, before the music comes in, when its just wind sounds and flute.

The beginning synth lines of Tank by ELP remind me of Zelda boss music.

The Intro to Lost by VdGG reminds me of some music from A Link to the Past... don't remember which... probably the dark town or something.

NERDS

Just kidding Im just like all of you guys   because video games are cool (well, some times they are adictive, but Im not a video games adict).

A lot of songs of ELP remain me some video games music of the NES or SNES, the instrumental part of Metropolis Pt1 sounds like Megaman.

The Castlevania soundtrack is very progy.

When i listen prog some friends ask me if that is a video game song or someting like that.

I have a ska/jazz cover of the tetris song that is supposed to be played by Mr. Bungle but I have searched on the web for information confirming that and I can't find it anywhere, if anyone knows about it please tell me. Anyways this song is really cool very jazzy and proggy with a really nice sax solo.
