Topic: Octopus cover Posted: January 19 2006 at 09:49 |
The USA cover, but I don't really like either of them. I think Dean has made much better covers than Octopus.

Definitely the Roger Dean cover! The colours are magnificent. One of his best covers.

The american cover suits the music more, quirky and unexpected
they are both very good - the Dean is excellent but to dark for the music

I prefer the picture - type of art better in general (Hugh Syme for example) so I like the octopus in a jar, but both pieces of art are beautiful. But neither can put the music to justice, incredible album.
btw I voted for the Dean one cause I like it about as much and its behind.

I
agree completely that Roger Dean's cover doesn't match GG's style of
music, yet his art is far better than the octopus in the jar.
Personally, I think Dean may be one of the greatest artists of all time.

The Dean cover seems boring compared to the jar drawing. Most people voting for the Dean cover are probably Yes fanatics, so there's no way they'll vote for the jar cover...

My copy's got the Dean cover (as it would me being in the UK!) but I like the bizzare look of the US cover.

The octopus in the jar. The other one doesn't relate to the music as much ... it would be the perfect match for VdGG's H to He (although that cover is of course also really good).

I prefer the more cartoonish USA one, for GG's music.

The Dean cover did not suit the overall mood of the album at all. But I will say it was pretty cool.
