I,ve got the Magic Pie album, and it's FANTASTIC.......... Haven't heard the Wobbler album before I downloaded some of it just now, and it's FANTASTIC too. Quite different from MP and I refuse to compare them. They're both a must have. |

I much prefer Wobbler; Hinterland was a great debut. As for Magic Pie, I just
don't get what the big deal is. Their debut album was ... well, boring. |

^^^^^^^ As you have not disapointed me before with your recommendations () I will follow your advice once more. I love both albums, however I'm having problems with the poppish/cheezy choruses found in Magic Pie's songs as can be heard on the first song in the album. In addition I'm somewhat more drawn to the type of music Wobbler makes than Magic Pie's. THere is also the matter of the sister band of Wobbler which I love immensly (White Willow). I will vote for Wobbler, but I absolutely love Magic Pie's debut album. To anyone that likes Magic Pie I strongly urge you to try out the album "Full Scale" by Strangefish. |

I really like Wobbler's Hinterland, and I've only listened "Magic Pie" once. I didn't like it much but I'll give it another chance. |

I voted for both in my Top 5 ... but Wobbler's the one I feel more compelled to listen to ... This is my fourth listen to Hinterland this week! |

Im listening to this mp3 from Wobbler I got from their site...and I have this theory...that I they didnt used vintage keyboards all the time and use some new kind of key every now and then...they would sound that..."vintage". Thought luckly for I dont find them to sound like a copy of other bands, but just "old school"...nice!!!

Both bands doesn't sound very original, they are obviously rooted in the Seventies. But Magic Pie excites me more, it is very dynamic music, especially the long first composition is great. But the vintage keyboard sound from Wobbler gives me shivers down my spine at some moments. If they mature in writing I think, and that sounds paradoxal, they will more appeal to me in the end because I am delighted about Skandinavian prog (Anekdoten, Mikromidas, Simon Says, Landberk, Anglagard)!

WOBBLER definetly deserve the top 5 place; though not innovative, play classic 70´s vintage progressive rock with analog keyboards, including 3 (real) Mellotrons. MAGIC PIE is neo prog and very similar to The Flower Kings. So, the overal result for me is this: having 2 copies, one from the 70´s vintage prog and one from the neo prog, definetly prefer the 70´s one! Cheers |

This two bands came out last year with (apperantly) two excellent albums (I wouldnt know...havent heard them jejeje, only heard a mp3 samplr from Magic Pie and a demo from Wobbler). Wobbler´s Hiterland was choosen as one of the top 5 albums from last year by this site...yet Magic Pie seems to get more and higher rattings than Wobbler...so tell me, wich one do you like the most...or think that should be in the top 5?
