Soon the top five will read something like this -

  • Selling England by the Pound
  • Foxtrot
  • The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway
  • Nursery Cryme
  • Close to the Edge

I can't choose!Confused

All terrific, but for me, DSOTM would not in in quite the same lofty league as the other four. WYWH is perhaps my fave Floyd disc. Selling England, Edge and Thick would all be (prog) "desert island" selections for me. A good top five, for sure!Thumbs Up (Though I'd find something else to replace Dark Side -- perhaps some VDGG, Crimson, ELP, Giant or PFM.)Smile

The Dark Side of the Moon or Wish You Were Here, followed by Selling England By the Pound and then Close to the Edge.  I really enjoy Jethro Tull, but I am not even sure if they stand in my personal top 20 favorite bands.

  1. SEBTP
  2. DSOTM
  3. CTTE
  4. TAAB
  5. WYWH

The list above is not my TOP 5 list!!!
A couple of albums come before SEBTP
A few come before DSOTM
Many come before CTTE
A whole bunch of albums come before TAAB
WYWH might be somewhere in the end of my TOP 50 or maybe not even in it.

thick and ctte are the only classics in that list. The 2 floyd albums are pretty overrated. SEBTP is in the middle. This site is too YES and Genesis biased ;) . I love Genesis, but it's an insult to rank TAAB below SEBTP. I find the first couple of minutes of moonlit to be very dull. Good album, but Foxtrot is better.  I think TAAB is a bit more complete than CTTE

I could not agree more. Darkside and Wish you were here are my least
favorite pink floyd albums. Boring. I am kind of tired of close to the edge.
Thick as a brick is a great album. But I have to vote for selling england, even
though I think Foxtrot is their best album. Selling England has to many
weak spots.

From this list it would be Selling England, which is in my top 10 of best cd's. Dark Side would be a candidate too.

The others have a lot of good musical moments too, but are not in my top 10.
