8/10. The title track is great (9/10 as a song) and as it takes half the time that counts pretty strongly. The rest is good/average to bad (the breakfast).

7 out of 10 for me because it could have been far better.  it is still fun to listen to i think and is over all pretty good.  i absolutly love the atom heart mother suite.  if and summer 68 are good as well.  fat old sun isnt in the same league as the other two.  Alans psycadellic breakfast can be tedious.  This is mainly when you have to listen to a guy stuff his face with fried eggs and cerial and marmalade.  I think that though that the musical sections of that song are very nice and pleasant to listen to.  Not my favourite floyd album but i think it is way better then ummagumma which i find in some parts unlistonable (particularly several small mammels ect ect and the grand vizier's party)  I am just stating my opinion.
true as a lobster in a pteredaktyl's underpants.

First ten minutes are a masterpiece but the first side runs out of ideas

Summer of 68 is excellent but the rest of the second side is mixed

Overall I recommend obtaining because of the good parts

But it is unlikely to leave you fully satisfied 7 1/2 out of 10

How wonderful to be so profound
