That's why you should use musicbrainz tagger! I highly recommend it and it is free!! http://musicbrainz.org/tagger/download.html Trust me after a bit of practice you'll wonder how you ever managed without it. BTW,if you rip cd's using cdex, nero,or Windowsmedia player 10 (amongst others) you can instruct the ripper to automatically identify the tracks and add tags for you. The only time my MP3s have no tags is if I have received them from someone else or the album couldnt be recognised at the rip stage.... Edited by Tony R |

ooo, I think that's the MP3 player my girlfriend bought me? It's a 1gb memory stick type player, I'm not sure if it uses ID3 tags or File names to order the tracks I'll have to look into it. Either way you could give the tracks names such as 01 - Speak To Me 02 - Breath etc, etc...
oops, Just noticed I've more or less repeated what TonyR posted.

I was trying to keep it simple and pertinent to DSOTM. Ok musicbrainz tagger is excellent : http://musicbrainz.org/ but needs a bit of patience to accurately use its features but after a few goes you will be an expert. Download the tagger here: http://musicbrainz.org/tagger/download.html

I think this is what you'll have to do, but rather than doing it manually ( ), there are utilities that will do it automatically provided you have tags (if you don't, things will take a rather long time whatever you try and do ). I can't remember any program names offhand, but I'll try and scrape together some sense of help when I wake up tomorrow. |

You need to edit the MP3 tag information. The player should provide software for doing this-when you select the files on your player you can normally edit them and add the track numbers. Failing that try editing the info in Windows Media Player.Just right-click on each track and select advanced tag editor and put the track numbers there. If all else fails you can re-name each file (track) starting with 01 Speak To Me ,02 Breathe etc... Edited by Tony R |

hi there
I have been given a mp3 player for christmas and its great except for little thing that bugs me. The albums play in alphabetical order, which means DSOTM doesn't play in order, as well as live albums. It's a Logik player if that helps, i looked in the manuel and found nothing. If anyone can help it would be much appriciated. |
