It seems that there were 2 different bands having the same name STEEL MILL, one from UK the other from USA (featuring the Boss!). |

Some precise (I hope) informations : Recorded in 1971, originally printed in Germany (Bellaphon 1972), it was published only in 1975 in Great Britain by Larry Page's Penny Farthing label. It was reprinting on CD (GTR 1994) with 2 bonus tracks (GET ON THE LINE and ZANG WILL) deriving from the two singles preceding the album. I read a very strange STEEL MILL review written by a certain Steve on 7/16/2005. Now, i don't know how to report here the entire review, but i'll write it here below : "It will not help to shed any light on the steel mill mistery but i think it may be of some interest to add that a cream-sounding-progrock band called steel mill was active at the end of the 60's, till 1971 if i am not wrong, in the states. They were about to sign a contract with bill graham who also took them in his studio to record a demo for a purposed album. They eventually refused graham's offer and split in the following months or so. They were from new jersey and their lineup was : Vincent Lopez (drums-vocals) Vini Roslin (bass) Danny Federicy (organ-vocals) Bruce Springsteen (guitar-vocals) yes, that bruce springsteen (!) several unofficial recordings from the period have been circulating in the last years and what they used to write and play is in my opinion of great interest for this site" STEEL MILL were from LONDON and the line-up was :
