Topic: death to Max Graham! Posted: December 14 2005 at 09:47 |
I blame Vanilla Ice myself...
...and it was no better in the 1970s - every youngster thought that Black Sabbath wrote original riffs, and grooved on to "Sweet Leaf", which, of course, was actually written by Spooky Tooth...

Young teeners think that Zep's Kashmir riff belongs to godzilla
and in this very forum , there is a thread about a Yes tune called Love Has Found A Way , but I link this title to Spirit's 12 Dreams album>

let's just stay above the moral melee prefer the sink to the gutter keep our sand-castle virtues content to be a doer as well as a thinker, prefer lifting our pen rather than un-sheath our sword

I much prefer Max Graham's version to Yes' version.
90125 is one of the worst pop prog sell out albums I've ever heard.

At least it got Yes back in the singles charts, any publicity is good publicity!

Yeah, sad but true. How many bands these days release covers of old songs, and their fans don't realise?
Mind you, don't forget Jon Anderson did a fairly naff remix of Owner himself.

this amy be old news, but it still bugs me that as i ask people in my general community about prog, the conversation is turned to yes, and i mention owner of a lonely heart. too much do i hear, "oh!, you mean the one max graham wrote?"
terrible, and untrue.
