The Rick Wakeman. CD I currently enjoy the most is "Revisted and the CD of the DVD + CD of "Wakeman 2000". Although I do maintain the majority of Wakeman CD;s on my iPod. Perhaps my favorite aspect Rick's playing style, is his ability to keep all of his song's "current" by actually playing the songs from Henry the VII for example, better now that he did originally. More often than not, most musicians, not matter how talented they may be, will write one or two really nice pieces of music, onl to allow them to stagnate, and sound in 2006 the same it did in 1972. All of the songs that I have heard him do, all get better wiith age, the music actually matures. Which is what really makes prog rock what it really is - always "progressive".

For me it is 'Criminal record', since 'Chamber of horrors' is my fave song by him...what a great album, Squire and White's playing make it just perfect!

This questions comes mighty close to the question "which child is your most precious?" ... ..  ..

OK, The Six Wives because it delivers the most exciting keyboard work but I love the atmosphere and story on Journey, help I cannot choose .. ...!!

I'm a sizeable Rick fan, so this is a tough one.

I too was glad to see the number of votes for Criminal Record - it's a well balanced album and definitely in my top 5. However, I cheat in my top 5 because I have three equal firsts!

1) Arthur = 6 Wives = Criminal Record
2) 1984
3) Out There
4) Journey
5) Return

I love 6 wives.  I was let down with King Arthur.  Yet another Yes solo artist that has amazing ideas and music, but fails to deliver with the vocals.  Other vocal letdowns include Patrick Moraz' Story of I and any Steve Howe album that features his singing.

Pleased there's so much comment about Criminal Record, it's excellent (and bloody difficult to get hold of now!) Overall 6 Wives is probably still my favourite - used to be King Arthur, but it's appeal has faded over time.

No Earthly Connection, if you can get it, is really good, but RW himself has said its the one album of his that really divides opinion - people seem to either love or hate it.

journey and six wives are on a different level. For me THEY ARE THE BEST! Myths is an amazing album too.

I consider these three better than criminal record and no earthly connection

I dont have a favourite one but my favourites are Criminal record, Six wives of Henry VIII, Journey to the centre of the earth, Return to the centre of the earth,  Myths and Legends of King Arthur and the round table.

He's got quite a few good albums but I always really liked The Six Wives of Henry the VIII.
