Hey guys,
I must've made a topic like this a long time ago, although I don't think I really learned much from that. Though I think we should make this a thread on methods of learning how to count time, which will lead the most novice music theory student and true interpreter of time sigs. I recently thought of a method...which I'm sure has been considered before...about "compounding" the time signatures. For instance, you have a 7/4 time signature. You split the time signature into 4/4 and 3/4 time signatures, accenting the note after the 4th beat and then after the 7th beat at the end of the 3/4 time signature. I believe this has been done before in several Genesis songs and "Money". It sounds simple to me...but kind of complex. I need to practice more with the metronome |
