I just say one word:
Avant-Garde.
He should be added to the archives as Prog Related. Compare his early 80s albums to the Zappa albums of the same time ... Zappa is clearly better, but still.

Hey Progman, don't you mean the song Halo Of Flies (from the album Killer) with halfway that wonderful break and great Mellotron waves? To me it sounds as genuine progressive rock  like more songs from early and mid-Alice Cooper are worth to check out!

SUPERB band... His solo work is much more theatrical, dabbling with many contemporary styles, but everything the band did up to Muscle of Love is fantasic. They (the band moreso than the solo artist) are definitely prog-related... the following songs have a prog-influence.
- Black Juju
- Ballad of Dwight Fry
- Halo of Flies
- Dead Babies
- Hello, Hooray
- I Love the Dead
Whether they belong on this website or not is detable (I'm certainly not going to lose any sleep if they never get added), but I'd say that the entire output of the band would be of great interest to proggers.
I am a big fan!

I'm a fan of Alice's stuff particularly from School's Out up until Dada (then he just started to go metal) but I don't think the band should be here.

It is generally hard to categorize Alice Coopers music as it is very different at times...take forexample Go to hell...almost every song on that album is in a different genre

Definitely not prog or even prog-related. I know he was an admirer and contemporary of Zappa, but Alice Cooper's music owes more to garage rock and roll than prog. Yes there are theatrical elements but that doesn't make it prog. In fact, though he's more expansive in terms of ideas and instrumentations, I'd be sticking Alice in there with the likes of Iggy Pop and the New York Dolls etc rather than Genesis et al...

He has a lot of strange music and i dont think there are many artists that can make so many different songs like Halo of fies. I love the dead, Mary Ann, Billion dollar babies and so on...really strange stuff

Just remember that he was also one of the crusaders against prog, and was very influential for the punks. I'm saying his music was bad, so don't kill me!

Maybe I've not heard enough Alice Cooper to make the 'prog-related' connection, but I do like him. Saw him live many years ago and the show was fantastic. I always regarded him as rock 'n' roll/metal.

No this is not a compitition against The Velvet Room, I want to talk about his song "Hello, Hurray" it shows elements of Prog, has he had any more Prog moments, the gibraltar encyclopaedia of Prog Rock has him on their website!!
