Everything QR released from 'Warning' up to 'Empire' is great. I play it more often than Dream Theater, and Geoff Tate is a much more talented vocalist than Labrie.

I loved QR back in the day. Oh, how I loved QR. All the way through Empire, this was one amazing metal quintet. Then they put out Promised Land, which didn't have the staying power of any of their previous albums. With HitNF, they clearly jumped the shark.

Now QR's going to do O:M II. I doubt it will be anywhere near as good, and DeGarmo's not going to play on it. Sorry, but if you're going to do O:M II, you need DeGarmo.

Yes, Tate is a terrific singer, both in the rockier and the softer numbers. The two guitarist are killers when playing together in harmonies and riffs, and the rhythm duet is terrific, too: specially the drummer, Scott Rockenfield, somewhere between Peart and Burr (1st Iron Maiden's drummer).

I've got most of their CD's, except Q2K.... I never picked it up and I don't really know why. Tribe's not bad, but I think they were holding back.

Mindcrime and Promised Land are my favs, though I haven't listened in a while.

Geoff Tate has one of the most distinctive voices in metal. Scott Rockenfield is a solid drummer, very tasteful and artistic. Wilton and Degarmo together, are better then each on his own, IMO.

I know for a fact there are a few fans of this band here, but it seems to be one of those bands that never really gets talked about by us.  So who's a fan of theirs?  I've just recently been getting into albums like Operation: Mindcrime and Promised Land.
