"The latter features material intended for the Crimson LP that never was, the follow-up to Red which John says was going to be called Blue."
First time hearing it, but if that's what Wetton told the interviewer, it must've been true (till Fripp shelved Crimson). Red is awesome, and while UK's debut is highly regarded, I'd probably swap it for more Red-ness (but I'd still keep Danger Money). |

I'm attaching an article that originally appeared in the Birmingham Post on April 12, 1999. It's an interview with John Wetton where he mentions (toward the end) a follow-up album to King Crimson's Red called Blue. It was supposed to be recorded in 1975 until Fripp changed his mind and pulled the plug. It's safe to guess that the album cover idea was then used for the USA album. I've never heard anything else about this until seeing this article: can anyone else verify this story or add any details?
