AREA is one of my all-time three favourite prog bands from Italy!! My personal rankinig is:

1- Maledetti (1976)

2- Caution Radiation Area (1974)

3- Crac! (1975)

4- Arbeit Macht Frei (1974) (this one has Patrick Djivas in the original line-up, before he went to PFM)

5- 1978 (Gli Dei se ne Vanno, Gli Arrabiati Restano) (1978, of course! - having the lead guitarist departed, they focused a bit more on ethnic jazz fusion, but keeping the fire of all previous recordings)

I downloaded the track from Area off the progarchives website. I love it! But I can't find the albums in stores here...

Chauvinism? . Obviously, you like British prog more than Italian or South American or Japanese or...  Does it mean that it's the best? I don't think so

Everything!

To avoid only works as Area 2 and the last Chernobyl 1997, boring jazz works.

I have just one disc by this unique quirky Italian band (AreaZione). Granted, Demetrios Stratos's vocal style is not for everyone, he was undeniably original and was a definite influence on Alberto Piros of Deus Ex Machina.

Can anyone recommend any other discs by them?

People are puzzled why I don't dig the Stones, well, I listened to the Stones, I tried, and I tried, and I tried, and--I Can't Get No Satisfaction!
