ELP, Genesis, Crimson and Marillion. Of those I only see Marillion as overtly political, diving into the horrid mire of Irish nationalistic politics that has divided that country for many years.

I decided to go for two, as I have done in the other two polls of the series, but it's very tough. Let's say Get 'Em Out By Friday and Epitaph.

Something amazes me much in the result of this poll so far, and which is that Flower Travellin' Band's "Hiroshima" has only got a vote from me. I find it to be a great song, and not least the lyrics:

That's a very good comment, and I've just discovered that this side-long epic is about absurdity of the Vietnam war. I'll mention it in the Political Prog thread, as it hasn't been done yet.

King Crimson's Epitaph is sublime. The only other I voted for was I've Seen All Good People by Yes. There are many fine songs on this list but these are the two standouts. I would recommend Yes' Gates of Delirium for this topic as well.

Amused to Death - Roger's finest solo work IMO, beautifully building on themes stretching back to Animals, The Wall, The Final Cut... and possibly tracing its ancestry back to songs such as 'Corporal Clegg', 'Fearless', and 'Free Four'

Hi,

I like many of these ... but I'm not sure that some of them had as much as Creedence and even Jefferson Airplane. I am partial, however, to Epitath, even though folks don't like to discuss it or the album as the best snap shot of the time and place! And losing friends to bombs!

I voted for Jethro Tull, but Yes, King Crimson, Genesis, Gentle Giant, etc, are very close in second place. Great songs in this poll.

Good idea to make a poll out of some mentions in the Political Prog thread.

Quite a few I love here, but King Crimson's "Epitaph", Art Bears' "The Song of Investment Capital Overseas", and VdGG's "The Emperor in His War-Room" are my top three.  I also will give a vote to GG's (which is like VdGG without the VD) "Proclamation".

By the way, I only just recently re-realised just how utterly wonderful KC's "Epitaph" is after not returning to In the Court.... for about 20 years.  It gives me shivers.
