Morse from the list.
I quite like spiritual songs that are more abstract such as Yes - Wonderous Stories, Kansas - Dust In The Wind and ELP - The Endless Engima. I suppose they would fall outside the topic as they don't deal with the subject head on but they give a sense of looking beyond the real known world for answers. Perhaps a step in the direction towards acquiring faith.

Me again admitting I was wrong after listening to Saviour Machine II. Jesus Christ is the better track, nice pick. And my pick in the poll was Neal Morse over the Doobie Brothers. Man that is a combination that strangely works for me. |

Powerful song, lots of emotion late but my favourite song by them is the title track on "Saviour Machine II" and it's impossible for me to get through it without feeling a lot of emotion. Thanks for bringing this band up it's been a long time, going to spin that song later. |

Hymn by Ultravox. Dear God by Midge Ure. Just saying.

Jethro Tull, XTC not far behind. The Kansas song is also good. Porcupine Tree's Halo would've snatched my vote had it been in the poll.

While Depeche Mode wrote Personal Jesus as how one individual can be a 'Jesus' to another, the religious Cash interpreted it as a gospel song.

Queen - Jesus (from their debut album) is also pretty good.

Nice list! There are two that I don't know and the rest is quite enjoyable to very good, to my ears. I'd especially favour XTC and Greatful Dead; I'll vote for Blues For Allah. And, I cannot not propose this track by King Missile, Jesus Was Way Cool: |

Top three in the poll: Blues for Allah My God Holy Diver This is probably my favorite Prog song about Jesus though (and my favorite Ruphus song): |

ZZ Top - Jesus Just Left Chicago
Outside the poll I have to mention Tom Waits - Chocolate Jesus (Beth Hart / Joe Bonamassa version is very good, too). Also Type O Negative - Christian Woman, good blasphemous fun.

From the poll, I voted for XTC.
I've been listening to Negativland's 2014 album, It's All In Your Head, which examines humanity and religion. But also their 1987 track, Christianity Is Stupid. |
