I'll just mention a couple bands that I haven't seen listed thus far (that I also really like):
Iluvatar -- Only album I've heard is Children. Its quite good Neo-Prog. Il Bacio Della Medusa - Discesa agl'Inferi d'un Giovane Amante. Some fantastic Rock Progressivo Italiano. The album covers for these are great: Edited by zwordser - November 13 2023 at 20:22 |

That's one of my faves as well! What a truly modest and honest prog album. No flashy noodling, no side long tracks, no crazy moog solos or complex time signature changes, yet it's such a powerful record!

2 of my very favourite bands are in this, both incredibly consistent across their back catalogues, so this is hard:
IQ - could be any (apart from Resistance), but today I’ll choose Subterranea 😎 It Bites - almost impossible to choose between Once Around The World and Map Of The Past….but today I’ll go with the latter😎 Also: Iron Maiden - again so many great albums, but let’s go with the concept of SSOASS! |

let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter keep our sand-castle virtues content to be a doer as well as a thinker, prefer lifting our pen rather than un-sheath our sword |

Whoops! Completely missed that bit of context, ha. If I'm limited to the letter I I'll need to give this some more thought! English Electric is of course wonderful. If I'm being totally honest and indulgent, then my favourite BBT is the whole stretch of works running from Difference Machine to EE full power (incl. Far Skies Deep time). I don't like their second album either, but to me, this one is as good as Prog Metal. |

hmmmmm... We're going down the alphabet and are now on letter I - in case you haven't noticed by the title and other postings The ^^ works but I don't know them, and BBT and GG have been covered. I would go English Part 1 and Free Hand (Funny enough, that's the one I would put on right now to hear Giant )
