Thanks for this. Just curious about the mention of Don Airey and then I realised I have seen him live - playing with Jethro Tull!

Wanted to get a Deep Purple gig in before they stop for good. This was rollicking good fun as they opened with Highway Star and played classics such as Black Night, Smoke On The Water, Perfect Strangers and a few tracks from the excellent album WHOOSH! (No Need To Shout and Nothing At All). There was a lot of soloing going especially from Don Airey who was channelling more Emerson than Lord at times. A lot of warmth comes from this band , they are so not up themselves in the remotest. New guitarist Simon McBride was also absolutely brilliant, if you are lucky enough to see them in any of the upcoming gigs then enjoy!
