My mini-review in Bandcamp:  Here we have mostly upbeat progressive rock from Los Angeles’ Adam Sears, with plenty of guest artists well-known in the current prog scene. All of the usual suspect instrumentation (various guitars, bass, and drums), heavy on the synths and other keys, throw in some violin, viola, and cello, and you have a sure winner of a release. Ace production and not one, but 2 epic tracks. No surprise that this is enjoying lots of airplay, and promises to have lasting success.

Released May 6, Lobate Scarp’s second full-length studio album You Have It All is an expansion to their 2019 EP Spirals and Portals, interweaving previous singles "Nothing Wrong” (re-mixed) and "Beautiful Light"  within the album to tell a more cohesive musical story. It consists of nine tracks (totaling about 66 minutes in length), including “Conduit”, their first fully instrumental piece, which was recorded live at Rich Mouser’s Mouse House Studios in Altadena, CA. Mouser, whose mixing repertoire includes Spock’s Beard, Transatlantic, and Neal Morse, returns to mix the album, and has played even a bigger role as co-producer and additional musician on several tracks. Steven Leavitt, producer of Lobate Scarp’s debut album Time and Space and the EP,  has also returned to co-produce. Progressive rock fans will appreciate the 17-minute finale "Flowing Through The Change” and the 14 1/2-minute title track featuring guest vocalists Jon Davison and Billy Sherwood from Yes. Modern prog fans will also enjoy guest appearances from Ryo Okumoto (Spock’s Beard) and Jimmy Keegan (Spock’s Beard, Pattern-Seeking Animals). Also drumming on both epic tracks is Eric Moore (Suicidal Tendencies, Infectious Grooves).

Most of the album was written by the band’s creator and lead vocalist/keyboardist Adam Sears.  He is joined by the band’s founding bassist Andy Catt, as well as recently joined guitarist Peter Matuchniak. Many tracks were embellished by multiple musicians including a string quartet.  Several keyboards were recorded at vintage synth studio Red Rover Recording and engineered by Michael Bernard.

The album is available on Bandcamp in digital as well as a limited edition glossy CD-booklet including 16-pages of lyrics, art, and liner notes. (Single releases from You Have It All, “Our Test Tube Universeand Life-Line”,  are available on most streaming platforms. “Our Test Tube Universe” has a lyric video on Youtube- youtu.be/rQed0knKLDE.

This is the band’s 3rd release with a front cover created by world-renowned space artist, David A. Hardy.
