Ahwak is actually the only band out of these I'm musically familiar with. While not a household name, their self titled 2004 album (and only album) actually has 84 ratings here on PA.

I'm not actually Israeli but I am in the process of making Aliyah :)

It turns out that Scardust's Strangers is actually the second highest reviewed album of the 2020s on this site thus far :) A nice surprise from our Israeli home, for sure.

Sorry it's all modern heavy stuff. I'm in my 20s, so I don't really follow may of the 70s prog bands, and Israel is a hot spot for prog metal, rn.

However, I cannot recommend Scardust enough! Even if you're not a fan of metal. I filtered some statistics on this site, and as of right now, in June 2022, Scardust's sophomore album "Strangers" is the only progressive metal, experimental/post metal, or tech/extreme metal album of the 2020s decade thus far that earned the "Essential: a masterpiece of progressive rock music" accolade on this site, and needless to say, it is the highest rated "metal" album of this timeframe, as well.

Oh yeah, I heard about this a while back: its a collaboration between Steven Wilson and Aviv Geffen, (from Israel) who I see has his own extensive discography. That seems worth checking out!

I've talked to Yossi Sassi a few times from ORPHANED LAND and I love how he'd end each conversation with "Keep it holy". Love those people! Their history is beyond belief.

I have a lot from Israel and while that REALEAF album is far from the best, it has that trippy psychedelia that I love.
AHVAK might be at that top of the heep and I have to mention Udi Koomran who has been thanked in so many liner notes I lost count. The man is a genius at making music sound better.

Yes, I think the Macarena is right.  Hard to get out of my head now..  "Heyyyyyy, Macarena!" 
 
 ...I mean, it was kind of fun for a bit to dance to, especially since some of the ladies in my group liked it.  But, seemed like it was being played everywhere we went where there were other tourists, and it got old very quickly.  Hope it's not like that nowadays there.

Some of my favorite:

Eatliz - a great blend of Alt pop rock and quirky prog, (incredible female vocals, remind me the bent knee's singer a bit)
Zingale -Amazing musicianship, one of the few israeli bands the can be labeled as a "true prog band" from the 70s. Sung in english. They didn't last long.
Ktzat Acherat - The fathers of Israeli pop/rock music making non accessible music.
Tatran - My favorite israeli band, they changed my mind. The greatest thing about them is that they are always try new things. I've been at one of their shows recently, and it was magical.

Also I will take this opportunity to say that my guitar teacher played in Hot Fur, and my dad's freind played in Ha' Arnav Ha Lavan (The White Rabit). So yo thats cool.

So Yeah I love israeli prog, making me feel proud. And thank you for posting!
