Lovely album. I had Ohms on my list until I checked and found out that it's their second release (a self titled one was released in 2017).

Yes, I've noticed that as well.
I was mainly thinking of Dimmu Borgir when I mentioned grunting and growling cavemen, but I'm not sure who you were thinking of. Wink

Lots of great debuts in here
I’m away from my collection now so will have to wait a bit for a real list…but the first thing I thought of was De Lorians killer debut from a year or two ago. Rrrrrauw. Like Soft Machine on mushrooms.

keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,

Those two bands are really good and I'm glad to see you acknowledge they're not prog.
A rare compliment from you. I should frame it and put it up on my wall. Big smile

I've included two artists on my list (Francis Lickerish & Unto Us) who've only released one album, mainly because I couldn't think of anyone else to replace them with. Embarrassed

I also included a couple of Symphonic Metal bands in my list (Delain & Edenbridge), as I couldn't come up with any more prog bands to make it a full Top 12. Embarrassed Embarrassed

that is an attack. How did I get in the middle of this conversation? Out of the blue?

If I was to say anything on Paul's list is that symphonic metal is not a prog subgenre.

Also you constantly mentioning me in places out of the blue is a bit insulting. If you have a problem with me, PM me and we can talk. Otherwise, react to something I say here, don't pick on me out of the blue when i didn't say anything to you, quoted you or asked you anything.

reply 3:

Besides being funny, I see your humor, Paul, to have quite a bit of depth as comparative historical music-cultural satire.

(reply 1-3: David's contextual reaction to Paul's humor) Big smile

what a great album, but did they do anything else?

I suppose not. But since Storm Corrosion's already been mentioned in the thread, I figured I'd bend the rules a bit as well LOL Plus, they're still technically active, so they might just surprise everyone with a new release (probably unlikely though)

I think bands that released just one album do not qualify here. Geek
