there is something I have learned from Friede (who is a professional translator): if in doubt look up the meaning of the word in a dictionary. so here goes: snob ( P ) Pronunciation Key (snb)
I suppose the question refers to the 2nd meaning. my opinion then it is a tie between all 4. since I like all 4 at least partially (not to the full extent though), I guess I am hyper-snobbish. why do I talk with you vermin at all? |

I think there's far more snobbery amongst Prog fans than I have ever encountered in classical circles...(maybe I haven't looked hard enough)..

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

Classic (< that is the proper term, I do believe) followed closely by Prog in general. If you know Classic well, I think you may agree. But really, Classic and Prog are about the same.

CLose call between classical and avant-garde...but I vote avant garde
because at least classical has some great peices of music and some
great musicians (even if they let you know it). Avant garde
meanwhile....

Avant-garde is elitism at its finest.
(I would also like to say that a lot of post-rock is pretty snobbish ) |
