Okay, thanks for that explanation. I must admit, I don't know so much about these stylistic terms and distinctions.

quality over quantity, and all kind of PopcoRn almost beyond

But I did mean "noisy" as adjective instead of Noise Rock as a genre. What I meant was that Kyuss aren't, to me, as noisy (dissonant, harsh production, etc) as the bands on the poll but concentrate more on the riff and the groove, as stoner bands do. |

I like most of these, but I’ve given my vote to Melvins, simply because Boris named themselves after Boris by Melvins, and Boris is my favourite of the more modern noisy rock bands. And just to help David out, Boris are at their noisy best when collaborating with Noise artist, Merzbow.

Yes, it's definitely Stoner, and I didn't really realise that your "noisy" was meant as genre term, which by the way is a good example of that imo it's best to write genre names beginning with capital letter because it diminish misunderstandings. ![]() |

Good album that one. I think they're more stoner than noise in their rock, but of course those styles overlap. Big

Flipper are great fun! Thanks for bringing them up. I think Shellac definitely have a connection to math and post rock, but much less so to trad prog.

Out of these Shellac is the big standout, though my real favorite in this style is Flipper! I would have probably expected the former to be more popular among progheads than this poll shows but okay...

I saw Sonic Youth in Kilburn in 1989 and they were terrible.

Two albums of early 80's Post-Punk, and which I'm very fond of, are Bauhaus (UK) - In the Flat Field (1980) Before (DK) - A Wish of Life (1982)
