   The gig took place at a full Rescue Rooms here in the 'Heart of the Midlands'.  I must admit I had seen Focus only the once before (in the outdoor setting of Victoria Park in London over 10 years ago) but last night they absolutely blew me away.  Thijs still appears to be enjoying every second of it; Pierre is a surprisingly powerful drummer live and the two 'newbies', Menno (guitar) and Udo (bass) are superb.  For me the highlight was an extended 'Eruption', that bordered on the ecstatic in places.  I'll keep it brief - catch them while they are like this as it may not last forever!
