If national anthems can also be composed in a symphonic nature, God Savess the Queen, which they cover also counts

I don't know if it's what you're looking for, but "The Barbarian" from Emerson Lake & Palmer's debut album is largely based on Béla Bartók’s "Allegro barbaro". Emerson Lake & Palmer - The Barbarian: Béla Bartók - Allegro barbaro: |

No, I know how to behave in the restaurant now, I don't tear at the meat with my hands. If I've become a man of the world somehow, that's not necessarily to say I'm a worldly man.

by the way: your nickname is German for "Count Haircut". but since I have alopecia universalis (an auto-immune disorder that makes all hair fall out from head to toe, even eyelashes and nostril hairs) your skills can not be applied to me

I don't know about any classical citations in the music of Gentle Giant unless you count their variation of the British national anthem (of which the composer is unknown; the melody first appeared in a publication called "The Musical Thesaurus" from 1744, albeit in a slightly different version) on their first album. but there are of course a lot of such citations in other prog music. one of the most cited pieces is Bach's "Toccata and Fugue in D-Minor". here two examples: my personal favorite citation is of Ravel's "Introduction et allegro pour harpe, flûte, clarinette et quatuor à cordes" ("Introduction and Allegro for Harp, Flute, Clarinet and String Quartet") in "The Three Tongues" by Mother Gong from their album "Fairy Tales" because they do a little improvement of the Ravel original. I will post both for comparison: the original: Mother Gong: Edited by BaldJean - August 16 2021 at 04:44 |

Hey guys, I am writing a paper for my studies. Including Gentle Giant. I just wanted to ask if any of you know any direct or indirect classical citation in Gentle Giants music. Like for example a phrase from Bach or so. I don´t know much classical music, hence why I´m asking here. If not Gentle Giant, also general classical citations from Progbands would be greatly appreciated. I don´t really know where to post this topic. If you know I beg you to reprimand myself, where I should post it. Thx Your Graf
