Confusion Field just released a new single Atom Child from the upcoming second album Future Impact of Past Diversions. The album will be out in November 10, 2023. Modern prog rock mixed with some northern melancholy.

We do sometimes hear what we want to hear, and we all hear things, and interpret sound/music a little differently as we bring our own experiences, associations and tastes.

I like the C64 message in the teaser above. I had a Commodore 64. I have re-played some of those games, like Conan, Bruce Lee and Impossible Mission on emulators.

Very interesting indeed. Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed the interview. Nick did a great job with that.
Yes, everybody has their own associations. And while your impression might sound a little weird at first, there is actually a very logical explanation. 80's pop has influenced my songwriting a lot. Giorgio Moroder has written so many great songs. My heavy metal past seems to be creeping up through my songs unconsciously too. It's so great to hear what kind of associations people have. Thanks for sharing, Logan!

I still have my C64 up and running, as you can see from the teaser. Still playing the original games. :) Conan the Barbarian was great back then. Commodore is also a hint about the album's lyrical theme. It's about nostalgia and escapism.

It's been a year today since Disconnection Complete was released. A HUGE thank you to everybody who have supported us by listening to our music one way or the other! CD is almost sold out, only a few copies left from Recordshopx or Justforkicks.

The second album is well on its way, more about that later...

Our debut album is still getting great reviews, most recently here in Prog Archives by Matti.

”All in all, this is modern Finnish heavy prog at its best, very good in the international level, and warmly recommended especially to fans of the likes of Riverside.”

http://www.progarchives.com/Review.asp?id=2690892

CD is still available from RecordshopX and Just for Kicks.

Yes, the interview was great as well!

Nick, you truly have deserved all the compliments and more. It's a big deal for a no-name-band like us to get noticed by media.

Welcome!
Enjoyed Nick's brilliant review and I've got curious what soundscape you launch ... Cool

Anyway, where can I get your latest album?

Confusion Field from Finland released a debut album ”Disconnection Complete” a few months ago. It's been labeled as ”heavy prog” in Prog Archives, so that's what it is.

So far the reviews have been surprisingly positive:

”Highly recommended for fans of melancholic metal such as Riverside or Katatonia, but also for fans of neo-prog artists such as t, IT, or John Mitchell, or for those who enjoy the atmospheric soundscapes of bands such as Pink Floyd or Nosound.”
- The Progressive Aspect

”Captured in an excellent contemporary sound, Disconnection Complete turns out to be a wondrously irresistible musical conjunction.”
”Arranging a personal top 10 list out of all the beautiful albums that appear yearly is usually a difficult procedure. That has not been made any easier by Confusion Field's very convincing and astounding debut album. It's a successful project, worthy of a mandatory listen for fans of modern progressive rock.”
- Dutch Progressive Rock Page (DPRP)

”Confusion Field's debut album sounds confident and enviously international ”
- Kaaoszine, Finland

"Pink Floyd on steroids"
- Made In Metal, Spain

People have mentioned several bands while describing Disconnection Complete. Riverside, RPWL, Eloy, Rush, Pink Floyd, Depeche Mode, Peter Gabriel, Conception etc.

What does it sound like to you?
