Hi, Nahhhh ... you'll have more fun buying out a couple of the casinos in Las Vegas and retiring to the fine life of nothing ... just buy music all day and listen to it all day! Free food and everything else!

I’d probably take the money and start a fire. 20 million makes a fine bonfire and would most likely get a conversation going about the meaning of dough and why it is that we keep doing evil and entirely monstruous stuff in it’s name. Should be interesting methinks.

Hi,
I was thinking that if you could collect all the royalties for 500 years and then adjust for the times and inflation, that Bezos would not even factor in this discussion! |

Yeah I believe he's the biggest selling classical composer these days by a far margin. Doesn't mean he's the best though. But I do use that argument for the Beatles as the greatest musical artist ever, so I guess I need to be consistent... hard to argue Bach over Mozart when you look at the actual sales.

And a lightningrodpiece, which is generally much more effective in combat than a codpiece. *Well, assuming you have electro-resiatance. If I stuck that rod out in a lightning storm I'd just end up electrocuting and neutering myself. Edited by Logan - June 02 2021 at 10:04 |

And improve on the model. I'd add frickin' laser beams to Mozart's head. The money for me.

Mozart certainly was gifted, but the most gifted one was Johann Sebastian Bach

Musical talent can be applied to many disciplines of life including business. Everything is basically timing. If Mozart was alive today he would have his attention on the pulse of the music scene and probably reinvent it somehow. Just look at bands like Black Midi who are fresh out of high school and conquering the world with only two albums. There is still money to be made in music but only for a few who have both the musical talent and the ability to capitalize on it. And BTW there is nothing wrong with making music as a hobby. Not all music needs to be about $$$.

Like Floyd said "...And I think I need a lear jet". Musical talent usually gets you nowhere anymore. Look at Allan Holdsworth. Best guitar player ever and his family had trouble paying for his funeral. Check out the thousands of musical youtuber's. Are they going anywhere? The only reason to play music is for your own pleasure. If you expect to be noticed or paid, haha. It's the managers that get you noticed. Pay to play. If Mozart was alive today, writing classical music, would he be a huge star? Doubt it.
