Hi,
(not sure anyone from GE will ever read or see this ... but I can't help seeing what I see and pay some homage to something I have always loved and cared about.) ... (02/06/2021) one day a friend of mine passed away ... I walked around the house ... slowly ... in a kind of daze ... with nothing ... nothing ... in my mind ... ... a sort of fog ... as I ended up in the kitchen looked through the glass door to the yard ... ... it looked gloomy ... it was cloudy ... the grass was wet ... ... must have rained last night ... and on the far end of my yard after a willow tree ... there was a small pond ... and in it were some little birds taking their baths and morning constitutions ... ... I shed my last tear slowly closed the door to not frighten my little friends and went inside ... to make a cup of something or other. These days I'm not getting younger and if there is something anything that bothers me many times ... is seeing some old friends the ones that helped inspire you fall away pass away and then slowly disappear ... and their work for a time is not appreciated but some of it is always remembered by a few fools like me ... are you receiving me? when I am flying some eight miles high and we don't even think of the seagull at all ... we think it all meant some drug or other ... In the end the history of the work by someone will tell a story that many of us can't wrap our minds, bodies and soul around at all ... it is them we remember ... I sat down smelled my cup of tea glad to be here I thought but ... it's getting lonely outside and here inside ... and while I can play the music something is missing in it ... and it's probably within me ... but the joy and love and care that it gave me at that time is priceless ... and one memory that is just ... cool and gives me a smile. A toast, was once said by a painter ... and this morning this cup of tea if for your spirit and the great music that I will remember to my last day ... my one and only way of showing you how much I heard and cared for something new at the time when folks did not want to hear it ... ... are you receiving me? ... YES ... I am and then some. ... I can not say the same for many others ... but for me, this is forever and I would not trade it for a whole lot of anything else. Best wishes from Pedro Sena 02/06/2021 |

Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

Read the news last night... Sad news indeed. The statement from Cesar Zuiderwijk in the Dutch newspaper AD: "We're a group of friends who are irreplaceable. A new band member? It wouldn't fit. Let us foremost be happy with the fantastic 50 years that we have shared." They've always been a solid quartet, and when you've seen them play live, you can completely understand the above quote, I think.

Shame, a great band, but give them credibility for stopping for such reasons.
Too many bands continue on where there is not even an original member, like Molly Hatchet, maybe someone in the the band previously for e.g. 2 weeks, or worse not even played for them at all, like Humble Pie and Blackfoot, where an original member assembled a bunch of musicians who sound nothing like the original band. |

Some sad news spread through the Netherlands today. Golden Earring will stop because the founding guitarist George Kooymans is no longer able to perform due to ALS.
