Totally agree. And who could forget Black Dog...

Actually Black Dog, believe it or not, its not form Mr Page, but from John Paul Jonnes...funny, isn´t?...I mean, Black Dog, one of Zeppelins most knowen riffs...and its from John P Jonnes...having Mr Riff at your side...

...of course my vote goes for Mr Riff...oh, I mean Jimmy Page..., thought its pretty much the same!

Pagey by faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar.

One of my favorite riffs of all time is the hard-rocking part of "Bring It On Home".

Blackmore, with Page close second. DP and LZ are my top non-prog bands

Tony Iommi,

I was listening to the album Sabbath Bloody Sabbath the other day. Without
a doubt one of the most Riff heavy pieces of music ever.

For me it has to be Ritchie. Not only for his legendary rifs with Deep Purple (smoke on the water, perfect strangers, black night...) but also for his magnificent riff work on Rainbow.

But Iommi would have and did.

Get your facts straight please.

Smoke on the Water was recorded by Deep Purple.

Oh yeah, sorry. I'm sorry I meant "Iron Man."

WTF?

Anyway; my vote goes for Iommi without a doubt. It has been written that he wakes up in the morning and comes up with a riff, of course sarcastically, but it is amazing that the guy has invented dozens of classic riffs.
