I'm compelled to ask: Do you like anything released after 1979?

Wonder what extra tracks we’ll get on the remix. I’ll be rearranging my A track list if we get some extra gems. I made a double album version of Stormwatch. I removed Orion from original and made a second album with most of the extra tracks. I had long Orion on disc 2

All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.

I really like A and find it more enjoyable than Stormwatch. 4/5 for me.

Not one of my fav Tull albums, but overall a good well-arranged album.

Their wiorst album to date, but they would do worse fairly quickly ![]() Tull was dead after Stormwatch and A was supposed to be a solo album. And honestly, I would've probably preferred it stayed that way too (I might like it better) Basically the start of their worst trilogy (TB&TB abnd UW are the other parts), where the "band" looks aimelessly in all directions and not finding a successful experimentation.

I loooooove this album. One of the criminally underappreciated albums in the prog world. I don't know why many don't click with it. I was blown away the very first time. Reminds me of Van Der Graaf's last days.

How weird is that...I was just listening to it in the car this morning. I actually have it as a 5 star album. I love every track on that album. Bought it when it came out. Take your time and listen to it a number of times. Every member shines; Eddie Jobson (a great inclusion), Dave Pegg (the bass lines are brilliant throughout), Mark Craney drumming and percussion and Martin Barre's guitar lines are unique and totally different to his '70s playing. All songs are all brilliant and refreshing...a complete 180 degree turn from Tull's previous albums. I never tire of it.

Another album that is not bad, I don't have an issue with the general sound and concept and I enjoy listening to it. but it lacks some spark. There's not that much memorable on it that motivates me to play it again when I compare it to Heavy Horses, Stormwatch, even Broadsword and the Beast. Subjective of course.

A fantastic album featuring eddie jobson who.s violin work is just incredible
my favorite song is WORKING JOHN,WORKING JOE one where ian directly addresses the working class, most likely it was a reflection of the economic woes in england at the time BLACK SUNDAY is an epic song .UNIFORM features eddie jobson mastery of the violin .4.W.D (low ratio) not one of my favorites has a great solo by martin barre overall steady strong work by ian and company. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() four out five stars thanks for taking the time to read my review grant |
