Besides the ones already mentioned (I recommend the Zappa autobiography)

I have one called the progressive rock files. It's rather old now since it first came out in the late 90's but it's good for what it is. There's been several that have come out since then.

^Thanks, it sounds really interesting actually. There seem to be three volumes as well. Have you read any of them or just heard about them?

I didn’t really know where to post this so I went with ’General Music Discussions’. I’m currently reading the book A New Day Yesterday by Mike Barnes and I’m thoroughly enjoying it, particularly the amount of detail as well as the balance between description by the author and quotes by musicians etc. I’m also reading the strawberry bricks guide to progressive rock by Charles Snider which I’m using as a kind of album reference. Although the choice of albums is at times a bit odd, it’s also enjoyable. The Real Frank Zappa Book is on the to-be-read.

Anyhow, on to my question and the topic of this post. Do you have any book recommendations about the prog genre, a specific prog band or a biography/an autobiography about a musician (or smth related)?

Also, merry christmas everyone!
