Focus + Beach Boys

The Beach Boys did collaborate with Chicago for the song Wishing You Were Here and that is lush. Chicago and Focus were both kind of 'fusion' back in the day.

The Carpenters are a very underrated band. Apart from their big hits they were a very competent live band, very jazzy and different to the persona that they appear on TV.

Big fan of the Moody Blues and I like Tears for Fears quite a bit too so voted for them. I actually don't think TMB are all that much more prog(or progressive) than TFF though.

Beach Boys singing wordless vocal choirs on Focus instrumentals would sound great.

Porg for short. My love of music doesn't end with prog! Feel free to discuss all sorts of music with me. Odds are I'll give it a chance if I haven't already! :)

Tim Smith has always said that Cardiacs are pop music, so were he still alive and on top of his powers, he'd probably be open for making this collaboration happen. Not so sure about Madonna though.

I can see Moody Blues and TFF clicking on sophisticated melodic music; PFM and Who may have potential as well.

Vote goes to Moody Blues & Tears For Fears.

For me, it would be PFM and The Who, though I think the Who are quite proggy.

So I randomly chose 8 prog songs from my personal song list and 8 non-prog songs. I numbered them 1-16 and then used a random number generator to assign pairs.
This is the result.
Which do you think of all these pairings would work the best for a collaboration?
And what prog and non-prog bands/musicians do you think would be great working together?

(Number 4 gave me a good laugh, but the cosmic number generator must have chosen it for a reason LOL)

Levitating downwards,
atomic feedback scream.
