All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.

I actually dedicated that Interactive soundtrack poll to him and had always planned a Morricone as my choice. I did change to one from the Wicker Man in the end, another also nominated that Exorcist 2 track you posted. It was strange timing, I got up at 3:00 am to set up the poll, and saw there was the news story that Ennio Mrricone had died at the top of the forum. I was heartbroken. He is my favourite composer and I have more than 30 of his soundtracks in my collection. There have been some really good threads on him in the past, and I suggested him for Prog Related long ago, along with The Feed-Back, which was one of his projects (I thought The Feed-back would get in at least).
I love his 68 through 70s period, as well as other albums. This was my choice for the poll at first. I do regret not going with a Morricone as I had dedicated the topic to him. A number of his tracks were mentioned in his thread, by me and at least two others. You mention various faves of mine (a couple of those I had uploaded versions of to youtube a decade ago or so).. Some faves of mine (too many for me to list): I adore Morricone, RIP, but his music lives on. By the way, most of his soundtracks are better listened to in the entirety. He does lovely variations on themes and creates contrast and tension. Edited by Logan - July 11 2020 at 18:46 |

I'm sure there's some kind of tribute and homage to him in the RIP section.
