Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive

Okay a third RiP thread in one week. Yes totaly possible to pay respect for the deceased in te RIP-thread. But in the case for Joe, I think it is deserved. For what he as a drummer and teacher of drumming have ment for the industry.

The passing of Joe Porcaro for me as a fan of Toto is a huge loss. He was the emotional anchor of the band. He provided practice space for hes sons and friends to jam and to got an understanding of the session industry.

lifted from Wikipedia.

"Porcaro has recorded with Natalie Cole, Don Ellis, Stan Getz, Freddie Hubbard, Gladys Knight, Madonna, The Monkees, Gerry Mulligan, Pink Floyd, Howard Roberts, Frank Sinatra, Nancy Sinatra, and Sarah Vaughan. He has done film scores with James Newton Howard, John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith, James Horner, Danny Elfman, John Frizzell and his son Steve Porcaro. With educator and drummer Ralph Humphrey, he was one of the founders of the Los Angeles Music Academy (LAMA) in Pasadena, California, which is now called the Los Angeles College of Music (LACM).

Joe Porcaro is seldom talked about but he influence and impact on the drumming community is solid.

He was an educater of drums very good described in this wonderfull interview portrait.

Now Joe can reunite with hes sons Mike and Jeff.
