This picture of Barbara Dennerlein is even hotter. She really looks like a film diva in it: ![]() |

One of my favorite actors, but I don't know much about him, except for what I read in a few articles.. wikipedia page. I don't think he ever did an English interview.

hi,
Other thoughts and interesting people. SAM SHEPARD ... from acting to flying colored ping pong balls to playing drums at the doorway to the off-off-Broadway theater where his play was being done ... a lot of stories I bet! CHRISTOPHER LEE ... even though he is better known for one character, he also had a very large list of other films he was a part of, and he was not a one trick pony actor. ANITA PALLENBERG ... she might have a lot of stories, but I think that she would also show quickly that she was a much better actress than she was given credit for. GLENDA JACKSON ... sadly her list of works seemed to disappear after some theater and then Ken Russell. I always thought she was interesting and could have done more, but it seems like ... she disappeared and did not become one of the grand dames in English acting like a couple of others have! One last one, not an actor ... CINEMATOGRAPHER SVEN NYKVIST ... who made so many people look great on screen and one day got himself an Oscar! How he "saw" people in many of the directors he worked with would be a very strong and interesting topic!

Hi I say the same thing about a lot of writers that visited our place. The difficult ones to say a whole lot about, are the more famous ones that my dad translated into Portuguese, and almost every one of those visited. The only one I did not like was Hemingway, but I was 4 years old and I think he was trying to scare me! Most fun? Aldous Huxley ... what you thinking little boy?
If you have the chance, and hopefully find it, Robin's session with James Lipton in THE ACTOR'S STUDIO is absolutely one of the best of all the shows ever done, in an incredible list of great folks that stopped by, and kinda gave you an idea of who you wanted to have fun with ... I was also thinking, that IRENE PAPPAS would have been a really good person to have in the show, and talk to, considering her very large and varied list of works. One other actor of importance ... MARCELO MASTROIANNI ... who in his later years was such a smooth and talented actor, compared to his early days just floundering by with all the women that made him and them look better and more attractive ... and how many Sophia films? He must have been in love with her Lasagna ... Peter Sellers was! Speaking of the devil, Peter Sellers would be a fun one, but I doubt any of us would get anywhere with him on the other side of the microphone ... he was too elusive and hidden inside and he never spoke much, or what he did speak was just about the same things he did as Bluebottle or the Major Dennis Bloodnock! You would think he might have things to say about a lot of films, but I doubt it ... I think many of them were just a blur in his mind as he is that kind of actor ... when he gets started you try to grab as much as possible ... and I heard one story about him ... that he ended up doing more voices in one film, because he said as a joke ... I can do better than that crap ... and he did!

You both in carnal congress with Barbara Dennerlein and me marrying Daniella Van De Donk (an avowed lesbian) are about as likely as PA admitting Prog ended circa 1979. ![]() Edited by ExittheLemming - April 18 2020 at 17:50 |

^ If only Barbara Dennerlein had gone to drama school and any of the stubbornly 'straight' examples had consented, who knows?

hmmm...
my parties were legendary back in the day #1 Jane Russell... and if you have to ask why... you are a true living in momma's basement prog weenie... #2 Sam Elliot... after needing to re-hydrate after spending many hours getting to know Jane intimately.. we'd throw back a few and recreate some serious Roadhouse scenes and kick everyone's asses who were brave enough to attend a Mick party. #3 Meryl Streep... good God back in the day man.. #3 Lisa Bonet. Why? ever seen Angel Heart? yeah.. I'd like to to 'discuss' that with her. #4 Uma Thurman. My one of fantasies always had been to dance that Pulp Fiction dance with her naked on a pool table.. never done that before.. oh I have by myself but suspect it would be much more fun NOT by ones self #5 and to finish the evening... testing the limits of sobriety with William Holden |

Maybe it’s because my dad and his dad worked with films and tv, but ever since I was a young kid I remember being on various sets and seeing many famous Danish actors of the time up close...and it very quickly dawned on me that many of them merely were ordinary folks who happened to be talented actors.
When I then apply this to the query of whom I might consider bringing along to a party, my very first thoughts are a) they have to come off as sympathetic creatures ie not too big for their bridges as they say in England and b) interesting/funny/etc. I love Marlon Brando and find him fascinating. He makes me think. Would I like to enjoy his company at a party? Not so sure. Nahh..I’d probably opt for some peeps that always seemed like good guys - folks you could drink a beer with afterwards. Robin Williams fx. Would’ve loved to have him swing by. Jim Carrey likewise...especially after he’s been making such interesting videos. Mads Mikkelsen is another one. I love the fact that he has turned every offer down from Hollywood every time he makes a new movie and they want to ‘change’ his teeth. Nope. He still sports those cigarette-coloured Transylvanian chompers. Last two? Obviously “Fleksnes” and Dirch Passer ![]() Edited by Guldbamsen - April 18 2020 at 04:35 |

This may surprise you: Einstein was a party animal who told lots of funny anecdotes at parties. He also was a big womanizer. That's certainly not what people usually associate with Einstein; most people think of him as living in his ivory tower thinking about physics, but trust me it is true. I read three biographies of Einstein. It is not as if he went to parties all of the time though, but nevertheless he was often invented and always was the center of attention there, and not just because he was Einstein but because of the way he behaved at parties. There is a nice little party anecdote of Einstein. At one party he claimed he could remove his shirt without first removing his waistcoat and demonstrated it (with some contortions) to the other guests, with big applause. Whereupon his wife Elsa drily remarked: "He practiced three weeks for this". He did this to demonstrate a topological issue.

James Joyce's Widow Tw**ky at the Regent Theatre, Stoke-on-Trent in 1932, is still talked about by aficionados of pantomime.

Hi, According to a lot of stuff written by my dad, Pablo did not have a lot of words, and usually said one word or sentence and left. James Joyce, apparently was able to stay and discuss anything all night long ... until he was able to conceive his next writing book! Can't tell you about the others, although I find Einstein a bore, and only his "characterization" in the film INSIGNIFICANCE makes any sense, but even then, it is strange and probably off kilter. Hildegard ... what an interesting choice ... I suppose that we could joke that in a convent one could get bored and write a lot of interesting things?
