I would say that MDK is THE quintessential Zeuhl album, and it is the top-ranked album in the Zeuhl category. That said, Magma's debut remains my favourite Magma album. I do think that all of the albums that made the final are wonderful, but then Zeuhl is one of the most, if not the most, consistently good categories in PA for me, so I have been something of a Zeuhl completest in the past -- even the "weakest" albums I like. That said, since I don't collect records as much as I used to, there must be plenty of newer Zeuhl albums that I haven't heard.

I love all of these. I didn't like seeing Eider Stellaire without a vote, so I gave it a vote.

Actually, I hadn't seen the other Magma choice... If I could change my vote to Kohntarkosz |

Feel stupid not voting for Kohntarkosz but the end I landed on Five Suns. A modern day masterpiece on this level are far and few between. Maybe its Zeuhlish and maybe it does occationally resemble a few original R.I.O/avant-bands of the late 70's - but I would never fail to recognize late Schubert although he also somehow resemble his idol, Beethoven. And I'm not gonna use the former being inspired by the latter against him. Guapo at their creative peak are still something distinctly and uniquely idiosyncratic - and never once have I though of them as "retro" or nostalgic.

Those bands and albums belong to Prog'n roll hall of fame , but Magma's Köhntarkösz is a member of Bartok and Coltrane family.

Guapo's Five Suns for sure, though by a small margin over Hhig.
