Twilight Zone. We didn't get Monty Python reruns until the 70s in the States.

Yeah the theme was engaging, and I love the Kolchak music. Good call. |

Noticed that these iconic shows did not make anyone's list:

There were some "just okay" episodes, and some good/great ones. And that great theme by Gil Mellé! (He also composed the theme for Kolchak.)

Gah, it was such a soul-numbing, poorly made show. And such a step down from the TZ & for Rod Serling, one of my heroes. Edited by Atavachron - September 08 2018 at 18:28 |

I voted for quite a few of these. Danger Man, The Saint, Dr Who amongst others. I voted for The Prisoner even though I didn't see it until Channel 4 repeated it in the 1980s. One that was missed off is the Man From Uncle spin off The Girl From Uncle. I had a big crush on Stephanie Powers in that!

soooo many of those - Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea and Lost in Space were Irwin Allen series; that started great and deteriorated over time, as budgets forced them to recycle costumes and ideas, which was weird since they both had a big audience. Twilight Zone/Outer Limits were both great. Night Gallery first aired Dec 16, 1969, so more of an early 70s series but pretty good. Wild Wild West was fun. I think the Original Star Trek was the best of all. For comedies, love Gilligan's Island, good old slapstick and a true "situation" comedy

HR Pufnstuf was a fun, weird psychedelic show, though I suspect the makers were puffin' stuff. |

As for much of the 60's we didn't have a tv, I only saw programmes at my grandparents or friends houses.. this changed when we moved in the early 70's and I caught up a lot then.. The programmes that meant the most to me were very early Postgate-Firman programmes like Pogle's wood and also anything Gerry-Sylvia Anderson (Stingray, Captain Scarlet, Thunderbirds). The most ingrained 60's TV moment for me was the moon-landing which I saw on my grand-parents B&W tv. I do remember early Dr Who and also Lost in Space which I rather enjoyed.. I caught up on much of the list during the 70's and later but I must (shamefully) admit that ive been to Portmerion more times than ive actually seen 'the Prisoner'. There was a programme I saw when I was a boy and i'm sure it was the late 60's called HR Pufnstuf with Jack Wild which was pretty weird and surreal...

^ Excellent! My children are 6.1 and 6.2 apparently. It also needs to be made clear that the Butler never appeared on Love Island!
