very hard to choose as I think "Mona Bone Jakon", "Tea for the Tillerman" and "Teaser and the Firecat" are all fantastic in different ways. And the later albums all had strong stuff too. In the end I voted for Teaser

Tea for the Tillerman is his best. One of the greatest folk rock albums of all time. Although Teaser and the Firecat is also a really good album, it does not have the depth lyrically of Tillerman. Plus, it is the soundtrack of Harold and Maude, a wonderfully demented movie.

This has always been a very hard question for me, as I feel Catch Bull, Numbers, and even Back to Earth are all very strong albums.
But I will vote for Catch Bull, this time, which I feel bests his earlier acclaimed LPs and his later gems. |

One of the greatest singer/songwriters of all time. One of my personal favourite tune smiths, hes songs are unique, very much part of me growing up is Cat Stevens as the hero of songwriting. Best melody maker of UK, touches the heart string and makes me sentimental.
My favourite songs are Sitting and Oh Very Young but favourite album is a harder task to choose. |
