^I don't know for sure, but Hitler may have worn Lederhosen in his youth. And the former president of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, was not dressed too luxurious: his coat was prized €26.

Mustaches can only lead to pants and toothbrushes. I'm not so sure anyone has written about the dental hygiene of dictators or where they buy their pants.

Nice to see this thread's topic morph form conspiracy theories to dictators to debates over comparisons of historical personages to views on Stalin's and Hitler's mustaches.

Hm, "facial hair as a potential indicator of dictatorship. " There's a research grant in there somewhere. ;-)))))
I doubt if such a relationship can be established. OK, let's look at some of today's dictators: the recently disposed ruler of Zimbabwe, Mugabe, had a moustache not unlike Hitler's, but Juncker and Kim Jong-un shave themselves. OK, Junck may be not exactly a dictator since he is a puppet whose strings are operated by George Soros, but Soros does not wear facial hair either.
If the EU are already covering up so much, how do you know they're not covering up their dictator moustaches with pieces of synthetic skin?
I don't know since I am not familiar with the well-informed circles. It might be the case with Junck's cupbearer Timmerfrans and some other male EU-commisioners, but it's an established fact that the #1 in Brussels would benefit some more from a synthetic liver .

Possible working title for your paper: Decapitation and shaving rash : From the Guillotine to Gillette
quite good, but a small improvement:
Decapitation and Depilation: From the Guillotine to Gillette
Wouldn't such semantics infer female despots? (apart from yourselves)
I don't think so. according to the Merriam-Webster dictionary the meaning of "depilation" is "the removal of hair, wool, or bristles by chemical or mechanical methods". such mechanical methods could easily be simple shaving, so I don't see why this would infer female despots

this is what I have to think of when it comes to unorthodox hairstyles: Rasputin, a Russian mystic with considerable influence on Tsar Nikolas II, the last tsar of Russia

Unorthodox hairdos remind me of televangelists for some reason, though I'm sure that's just a stereotype. And then there's the world of music in the 1980s...

Kim's unorthodox hairdo fits in with Quinino's theory... And Erdoğan has something of a moustache...
