I own a takamine EG-230, bought it for about U$500, and boy, it sure can handle it, altough VERY CHEAP!

I use a Takemine EC-132C Classical.
Cutaway, Built-in Pick-up, EQ and Tuner. Sounds great, even when plugged straight into the desk. They cost around $1100, but well worth the investment. |

yeah that's true, but every acoustic guitar has the same problem. Maybe more modern guitars (say Taylor) are a bit better sounding from the beginning, but honestly I find them too "boomy", which I don't like. The Martin has always a sweeter sound. It's a matter of taste i guess. If you're curious, there is an online american shop where you can find some video's of the guy playing different Martin models, so you get an idea of the sound. www.maurysmusic.com a good start may be the D28, a real all time classic. |

Yup but i have heard Yamaha's should be great? And i dont know about the Martins i know they are great guitars...but perhaps a bit overrated (and overpriced) i have heard they should need some playing for 5-6 years before sounding really great.

You can't go wrong with the takamine in either steel or nylon. I
remember my classical teacher from years back had a takamine nylon-
sounded great.

^ Yeah, special order custom lefthand one. Not as good as my Eugene
Philp lefty. Philp was (died in his prime, poor man) the apprentice of
the master guitar builder who makes the John Williams (classical guitar
player - not the other one) classical guitars. That makes mine the only
lefthanded guitar he ever built.

The best mid-price option in acoustics (with pick-up inside) is a
Takamine, which go for about $ 500 U.S. They are great stage guitars and reliable. They are known for the quality of their electronics. I've had one for years, and it's been great. Ovations are also good, although they look ridiculous. If you have 3000$ (1500 quid) for a Martin, by all means, buy away. I sure wish I could. They are the best. Taylor guitars are a little cheaper, but also top quality, if you find one. I don't know much about nylon string guitars. |

if you have enough money, go for a Martin (steel string) or for a Yairi (nylon string). The Martin was used by both Brian May and Dave Gilmour

Please recommend i have been playing electro for years but dont know much about the accoustic ones...Please recommend both nylon and steel stringed guitars. And i would prefer a cutaway and a microphone in it.
