Definitely Wrath of Khan, which is actually one of the best movies of all time in any genre. Followed by Voyage Home, Undiscovered Country and First Contact. |

I'm not a Trekkie or Trekker or whatever, saw te original William Shatner series in 1970 when passed here in Perú (Translated) but nothing like The Next Generation, Patrick Stewart is the best Captain IMHO. William Shatner had to wait until Denny Crane to meet his best role.
My vote goes to First Contact.

none of the odd-numbered films got ANY votes, hahahah. If any of you
are aware of the lore that there has NEVER been a "good" odd-numbered
Trek film. I disagree though: I loved them all except "Final Frontier".

Yeah, I agree. I hated Riker. Jonathan Frakes is just well lame. I think it's the end of Next Generation movies as we know it. I'd like to see a spin off movie featuring other characters who have moved on to different assignments. It would be interesting to say the least. A Deep Space Nine movie might be interesting too.

Oh, yes. I was pleased to see that too, but why invent another race? Never heard of this before. The action was good, but the story was pretty contrived. And why kill Data? He is one of the best characters. I was hoping Riker would finally get axed. |

I thought Nemesis was the best Next Generation film. The action is without a doubt the best in it's class, and it was great to finally finally see the Romulans make an appearance in one of the films. I was absolutely thrilled when I went to theaters and saw that the Romulans were heavily involved in the film.

The first one was a bit weak in the plot department, but was a special effects extravaganza. These guys were probably pumped about finally having a budget to make it look good, they forgot about the script. "Kahn" is about the only one that really stands on its own. You don't have to be a Trek fan to like this one. The only real problem is Kirstie Alley as a Vulcan. They seem to have a very hard time casting female Vulcans (Kim Cattral?). "Search for Spock" was a letdown. "IV" was a light, and loveable save the whales movie. "IV" was really bad. It was way past time for them to hang it up. "Undiscovered Country" was surprisingly better than the last one, but still not that good. (Christopher Plummer quoting Shakespeare. Where did they get that idea? Oh, yeah, from Khan! When he quotes "Moby Dick!") I thought "Generations" was enjoyable, and allowed them to make the transition. "First Contact" was a lot better (The Borg usually make for good trek). "Insuurection" was nothing more than an episode that was never shot. "Nemesis" just confused me. I'm not really sure where that idea came from (Remus? A Picard clone? Kill Data?)

I've only seen First Contact of the NextGen films, but with that in mind.....
.......most of the OS films are pretty decent, including the first one, which is inexplicably much criticised.........until you get to V:The Final Frontier (Shatner: "Me! Me! I want a go!! Please let me direct one, ah, cmon, it's my turn.......") which is utter crap........and Generations.........ditto.......but the whole arc of II, III & IV make up a very watchable series........

Believe it or not, the original intention for the 2nd film was to have a story involving Harry Mudd. But the actor Roger Carmel who played him twice in the series died. So they scrapped the idea and went with Khan instead. |

As much as I loved first contact, it over did the borg a bit too much. nd why the borg not just send 2 Borg cubes? Well, whatever. Still a great movie. I have to go with the Wrath of Kahn, beautiful movie, and storyline. (However, the orignal series episode of kahn SUCKED!)

Christopher Plummer was no less than brilliant in that role, "Don't wait for the translation, answer me now!!" What a delivery! Since seeing that, I've always made a policy not to mess with anybody who has an eyepatch riveted to his skull! As for Search For Spock, yeah the effects were pretty cheesey except for the destruction of the Enterprise. They really gave her a spectacular death scene. |

I definately vote for the Undiscovered Country. The final movie with the original cast, and they made it important. The storyline is among the most epic in the Star Trek movies, and Christopher Plummer was excellent as General Chang. It's kind of odd to see the father from The Sound of the Music playing a Klingon warrior. The runner-up would definately be The Wrath of Khan, William Shatner definately put in a great performance in this one. The Search For Spock was interesting. It's a much different mood from all the other films. Shatner definately put in his best performance here. The special effects looked cheesier than the other ones, but I don't really know why. |

Wrath of Kahn gets it for me with First Contact and Nemesis not far behind Voyager was the best series as the stories were more creative I felt. I here there working on a new ST film with the working title Beginnings () set between enterprise and the first series chronologicly. God knows why |

I like the theme of the first movie, the story of V'ger, etc, etc but the movie itself has dull moments. So my vote goes to IV: The Voyage Home - the scene at the hospital with the Doc 'Bones' complaining about present invasive medicine is funny and also sad (I always say that Medicine will leave the Middle Age the day an invasive surgery shall be the last option not the first).

Best three are Wrath Of Khan, Voyage Home & First Contact.
And I'll go for Wrath of Khan. I admit to being a true geek, I love all Star Trek, they should never of counciled Enterprise even if it was a bit iffy, Scott Bukula was alright though. Now I have to get my Trek fix here http://www.newvoyages.com/ |
