Thank you for the replies. Unfortunately, none of them is what I was looking for. Damn though, Symphonica is pretty damn amazing!
I think I've listened through all of Koenjihyakkei's major releases now, still no luck. I'll just have to keep looking, sift through every single Ruins album, and then move on to his other projects, lol. |

Might be from Ruins' Symphonica, which features two female vocalists and keyboards by the great Kenichi Oguchi of Kenso fame. My favorite Ruins album! |

Having vocals eliminates Korekyojinn and if it's female vocals that eliminates Ruins. The first one that comes to mind is probably Koenjihyakkei's most recognizable song but the arpeggio does not continue all the way through as you describe.
I think you have no choice but to listen to every koenjihyakkei song!

This is a long shot, but I'm looking for a song I heard a couple of years ago and not finding it is driving me crazy!
Ok, so I know it's by one of Tatsuya Yoshida's bands (probably Koenjihyakkei, Ruins, or Korekyojin). I first heard it at a friend of a friend's house, who I've been unable to get a hold of. Anyway, this is what I can remember of it: it starts off with a relatively simple synth arpeggio (simple, at least in comparison to how frantic their material often sounds in other songs), heavy drums kick in after a couple of seconds (I think), which are then -- shortly after -- joined by operatic vocals. I also think the synth arpeggio just keeps rolling pretty much continuously through the entire song. A long shot indeed, but I'm hoping there are some hardcore Yoshida fans on here reading this, who might actually recognize my somewhat vague description? |
