Guess they've dropped Fracture from the set.
But, Fracture.
( I'll live without it. Rather live with it. )

Epitaph is probably the track I play more than others. As it brings back many happy memories, anything from Lark's Tongues in Aspic is also a favourite.

Ahh... So hard to choose...
Starless for me. Probably one of my favorite songs of all time!

I used to find part 1 too loose in the middle, but the new version they have been playing live just fixed that song for me. |
Oh, I just meant of Part IV. :p
Of the overall suite, I'd have it:
One Four Two Three

I saw the 2014 7-piece show, and the 2017 8-piece show (both here in Seattle). I also caught the Thrak tour when I lived in Germany.
I thought the 2014 show was a little better, but both shows rocked up down left right back & center. And both were way better than the Thrak tour (not that it was bad, but Crim seems to get better with age).

With Crimso, less seems like more. I've listened to them through most of my life, in all their incarnations, but the four-man versions have been stronger and more interesting than the six or more overkill attack. Think of the classics: Fripp/Lake/McDonald/Giles, or Fripp/Wetton/Bruford/Cross, or Fripp/Belew/Levin/Bruford. When it's more than four, things get buried in the mix. The complexity of the standard KC song also makes a case for avoiding going overboard.
Crimso's spirit is whispering "Dig Me, Don't Bury Me", but you can't hear it in over the rumble of amplified instruments.

I would really like to see if they play Great Deceiver or Lament on the upcoming fall US tour.

^ My favorite is either part two or part three (depends on the day) but I agree that without the coda it would feel weird/wrong.

Yeah, they should really do that at some point. Yet, I wonder if "Talking Drum" should be included as a sort of intro to part 2, as well as the "Coda: I have a Dream" after part 4. Also, I would like it to include "Level 5", since I read that one was suposed to be Larks part 5. |
I would say no to The Talking Drum...I feel like the transition between parts I and II would be smooth enough as is (and while played together frequently TTD isn't really part of the suite). If they ever did this, I would say they would include Coda: I HAve A Dream (with or without vocals) as I don't think they've played Part IV live without it (admittedly there have only been a few versions officially released over the years so it's a small sample size). I'd have no problems with Level 5 tacked on at the end (nor would I have if they leave it out) but since they are playing it (fantastically) they might as well! | Besides, I can barely imagine Larks part 4 without the CODA... it would be rather underwhelming. I think that's the best part of the song, if it can even be considered so... given the flow of the song and the CODA, in my mind they are so.

I wouldn't have minded much if they were not playing any of the Belew era stuff at the show I saw... most of the songs I didn't care so much about were from that era... except for Level 5, that one was one of the highlights and would have hated to miss it. But playing more 70's stuff instead of post 70's would have been perfect for me.
