Djam Karet's one of my favorite bands, too! The new album (again) balances rock and electronics in a way no other band does.

Hey, I'm a young music producer and I recently released my first album. It's something in between Post and Prog Rock. If you want to give it a try, I'm on Soundcloud and Bandcamp.

Probably the most progressive song is Area One: https://soundcloud.com/paraphontree/area-one

The bands that influenced me the most for this song were Riverside and Alan Parson's Project.

Leave a comment if you want :)

If you liked what you heard you can find merch (e. g. CDs) here: https://paraphontree.bandcamp.com

By the way, is it okay to post full-album-YouTube clips?

I think I mentioned Gong and Steve Hillage.
Also both artists were huge influences for Ozric Tentacles etc.

Hi,

Strange mention/post time!

Weird to see GONG's YOU, not mentioned, and it was probably the album that gave that style (can it be called that?) it's life and eventual living. You just put on the 2 long cuts, along with "Isle of Everywhere", and there you have it.

Steve Hillage should be listed here, and I specially like the "Green" album, and its impeccable mixing and design.

Though not for everyone, if one is into trip music, that can not be considered "progressive" in its definition, but it is experimental in its form, one should really check out Daevid Allen's excursions into the Glissando thing which is really trippy, but not a "song" per se.

Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

Lumerians - Transmalinnia

BlandBladen is underrated and really, really great stuff. been listening to their album for maybe 10 years now. It never gets boring. Too bad, no-one knows the band.

I don't know the rest of your list, but if it's similar, I'm sure I will like it. Thanks!

Listen to the album "Beginnings", the debut work of Hungarian group RasaSound. I think this is exactly what you are looking for. Wink

That's why I put Eye Of The Soundscape here. Riverside can fit with the instrumental psychedelic space-rock. Just with that album ! Wink

And you should also listen to Lunatic Soul. Star

I think the title sums it up pretty clear.

The new Riverside sounds like psytrance. I can't even imagine this is the same band as Rapid Eye Movement. Really nice...

^ and ^^

Then maybe I should give it a listen, then. I listened to their first three albums years and years ago, and then finally their was one EP wich was okay (Pink Floyd influenced) and then they released a full force progmetal album (ADHD or something) and I just quit listening.

But is it instrumental? Does it feature lengthy synthsolos and soundscapes? Drummachines? Percussion? Flute? Does it have ethnic influences?

This thread was meant for that type of spacerock, not a band that suddenly makes atmospheric music.

Edit: I have a day off, so I looked it up on Spotify and playing it now. Sounds like something totally different than their old work.

^Because it is a complete change of their style. Everything metal about them has been stripped away.
