The parts themselves are interesting, but they develop in a predictable way. Not that being predictable is always bad, but the riff sets the song up for being something a bit more twisty/turny.

A lot of it was on the boring side. Metal or Prog Metal fans might like that. It needs some additional point of interest for me. A little more to hang your hat on. The intro needs something swooshing in the background or something; although it's a pretty cool and dramatic sound, as the sole focal point in a recording it just gives the feeling of someone playing in their bedroom. It's better than a recording I recently made a couple days ago, though.
