Hi guys.  I might know some of you from the DTF or MP forums...but things have been a little dead, so I'm looking for new places to hang out and hear about new bands.

I don't normally go around pimping new bands myself unless one happens to be truly dominating my playlist.

About a year ago, I saw a band called Graphic Light Theory open up for Fates Warning at a local show.  I loved the band, and the lead singer reminded me of Enchant, so I decided to talk with him after the show.  To my disappointment, he said that Graphic Light Theory was actually going their separate ways, but he and one of the other guys were putting their full force behind his main project Odd Logic...and then he gave me a copy of their newest CD "If We Were Live".   This is easily one of the best CD's I've heard in a decade...and it's probably right next to The Mountain as my favorite CD of 2013.

I started digging into Odd Logic's back catalog on CDBaby and I just cannot figure out why these guys are getting ignored.   I mean, imagine a proggier version of Frost* with Ted Leonard singing, and Shadow Gallery story lines....maybe just an occasional dash of Symphony X heaviness and that's Odd Logic.

Their second and third albums are a two part concept piece called "The Legend of Monta" and it's easily some of the best prog metal I've ever heard from anyone.   Since the guys are doing it all on their own with no label support, the character voice over stuff sounds like it was done by amateurs, but the production of the music itself is surprisingly full, lush and in your face.

The more I get into these guys, the more I honestly think they are the most overlooked band in prog metal today.

Their 1st album Parallax Panorama is only *ONE DOLLAR*, however you should be aware that it's the most demo sounding of the bunch, and was mostly done with a drum machine.  (think Shadow Gallery's first album)

The two Legend of Monta albums are only FIVE bucks each, and you get FLAC files for that price.

The 4th album is "Over the Underworld" and is designed to sync up with the Kate Beckinsale movie Underworld if you happen to own it.  It is also only FIVE bucks and it's a brilliant concept and a ton of fun to watch with the movie.

The new album (that I started with) is the most expensive and it's only NINE bucks.

Seriously guys.   I would hate for these guys to have to hang it up.  They are just so freakin amazing, and the fact that they aren't signed to a label is just criminal.

PLEASE check em out.    Free samples are available.
